The Sidra plant (Ziziphus spina-christi), commonly known as Sidr tree in the Middle East, is a species of the Rhamnaceae family. It is, on average, between 7-8 meters high, with soft and gray yellowish leaves. The flowers of the plant are yellow as well, and the round Sidr fruits turn reddish when ripe. They grow in coastal, desert, and semi-desert areas, and also hold medicinal and religious significance, as it is mentioned in the Quran. The leaves are sometimes used to make herbal infusions or powders, believed to have therapeutic properties for various ailments.
